The International School of Monaco

Back in 2024, the International School Monaco (ISM) embarked on an exciting new chapter, relocating to the prestigious Testimonio II—a striking, modern complex that reflects the architectural elegance of the Principality. With panoramic views over the Mediterranean Sea, the new setting provides an extraordinary backdrop for reimagining the school’s educational setting.

ISM sought to create an innovative, future-ready learning space for its Primary department that would complement the uniqueness of the new location while supporting the school’s progressive teaching philosophy. The brief called for an environment that was both inspiring and functional, tailored to young learners’ needs. Our design scope extended well beyond the classrooms – we were also responsible for the complete interior design of the offices, meeting rooms, dining areas and dedicated wellbeing spaces – ensuring a cohesive, functional, and inspiring environment throughout the entire school.

From the outset, the exceptional character of Testimonio II inspired a design solution that emphasised flexibility, creativity, and wellbeing. Our team developed a dynamic concept centred around natural light, organic flow between spaces, and multi-functional learning zones.

Sustainability was the central pillar of our design philosophy. We placed strong emphasis on circular solutions, selecting furniture items from Vepa’s Felt, Finn and Be Hybrid collections further support our circular design strategy, while products from Re-Felt, made using repurposed textiles, contribute to both sustainability and improved sound quality in key areas of the school.
