Keep Scotland Beautiful

Scotland

When Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB)—a charity dedicated to enhancing Scotland’s environment, wellbeing and communities—set out to refurbish their office, they approached the Eastlake Group with a unique challenge: to design a modern, uplifting workspace using just 50% of their previous floorspace, all while staying true to their strong environmental values.

Eastlake Group embraced the challenge by developing a design strategy focused on reuse, upcycling, and biobased innovation. A significant portion of the client’s existing furniture was refurbished and repurposed, reducing waste and environmental impact.

To complement the reused pieces, new sustainable products were carefully selected—including Vepa’s Felt High and Felt Chair. These not only met the project’s circular economy goals but also aligned perfectly with KSB’s values of sustainability and environmental stewardship.

The design team crafted a bright, airy interior, anchored in a palette of soft greys with playful accent colours to energise the space. Vepa’s Modular Sofas and Lounge Chairs were chosen for their flexibility, comfort, and low environmental footprint. A clever combination of textures, materials, and nature-inspired influences helped create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere—proving that sustainability and style can go hand in hand.

Keep Scotland Beautiful was thrilled with the outcome, praising the Eastlake Group for successfully delivering a space that upheld their commitment to environmental responsibility without compromising on design quality or functionality.

This project demonstrates how creative thinking, circular products, and purpose-led design can transform workspace constraints into meaningful, impactful solutions.
