Cultuur Oost

For the new offices of Cultuur Oost in the iconic Rozet building in Arnhem, Alternativ created a contemporary working environment that supports collaboration, focused work, and social interaction. The design was developed based on the Programme of Requirements and a mood board created in collaboration by Cultuur Oost and consultancy Ynno.

The Rozet building provides a unique setting where culture, knowledge and community come together. Within this architecturally striking location, Cultuur Oost was given a new workplace that reflects the organisation’s identity and ambitions.
The interior includes office spaces, meeting rooms and a cultural living room. The design is organised into a variety of distinct zones, each with its own character while forming a cohesive whole. In one area, warm reds and rose tones create an inviting atmosphere, while yellow and mint-green accents in another bring a fresh and energetic feel. The carefully selected colours and materials also provide an appropriate backdrop for the art and cultural activities that are closely connected to the organisation.

Vepa furniture forms the common thread throughout the project. The workspaces are equipped with Presto-R Duo sit-stand desks featuring InBetween divider screens, creating an effective balance between collaboration and focused work. Additional Presto desks provide dedicated spaces for individual concentration, while Rack storage units with integrated planters combine organisation, storage and greenery within the open-plan office environment.
The meeting and social spaces have also been carefully designed. Contact meeting tables paired with Maia chairs offer comfort and functionality for meetings and conferencing, while Wireworks benches create informal settings for spontaneous encounters and short conversations.
