The design of our Whale Panels is based on the whale’s head. The acoustic panels are subtly reminiscent of the pleats on the throat of a whale.
They are made from 113 recycled PET bottles.
The raw material used to manufacture the products has been fished out of the Amsterdam canals ourselves.
Evey year, thousands of people roll-up their sleeves and take to the Amsterdam canals to come plastic fishing with Plastic Whale.
Nowadays, more than 40.000 PET bottles are collected per year.
The bottles fished out of the canals are turned into PET felt and PET foam.
We create this beautiful furniture – designed by LAMA concept – right here in the Netherlands. In our own factory in Hoogeveen.
Our Whale Panels are part of the Plastic Whale by Vepa collection including the Whale Boardroom Table, Whale Tail Chair and Barnacle lamps.

Plastic fishing on the Amsterdam canals
Every year, thousands of people roll-up their sleeves and take to the Amsterdam canals to come plastic fishing with Plastic Whale. Businesses come fishing with their teams, citizens join the public events, kids learn about the plastic soup and tourists experience the city in a complete different way.
They all want to make the world a better, cleaner place and support Plastic Whale’s mission for plastic-free waters.
