IJburg College

Amsterdam

The IJburg College is a striking new building that can accommodate 1300 pupils from VMBO up to and including VWO level.

Vepa supplied nearly 600 Fiero chairs and more than 1000 chairs 400. The pupils’ sets are based on table t40. The 200 plus Fiero bar stools have been modified and raised to a specific height at the request of the interior designer. Aditionally tambour cabinets and folder racks have been supplied. Take 4 desks have been placed in the teachers’ room.

The interior of the school has been designed by the interior architects of SOAP Ateliers. The building has been kept as neutral as possible so that the drawings and projects of the pupils give colour to the learning environment

The design of LIAG architects and building consultants has anthracite-coloured steel folded plates on the outside that create depth towards the windows of the façades, giving the building a dynamic appearance. The IJburg College is not just an educational building, it also offers space for a grand café, theater, sports hall and health center to be used by all.
