In addition to being elected for Enterprise of the year in Drenthe, we have also received other awards and nominations this year. Together with Plantics we are winner of the Renewable Material of the Year 2021. Our Felt Relax was awarded with a Red Dot Design Award and chair Felt won the international Green Product Award. We reached the top 3 of entries for the national Sustainable Tuesday Award and won the price for most sustainable company in Drenthe. We have also been named ‘Best practice’ in the category ‘furniture’ by the EFIC with Plastic Whale by Vepa.
Our Felt Relax recently won a Red Dot Design Award. This prize has been awarded since 1995 to products with an extraordinary design. The statement by the Jury: With its environmentally friendly material sourcing and use, the design of this versatile swivel chair also takes its fair share of ecological responsibility.
During the three-day international Renewable Materials Conference Vepa and partner Plantics won the prestigious Innovation Award. The Hemp chair collection was crowned Renewable Material of the Year 2021.
Vepa became Business of the Year of Drenthe in 2018. According to jury chairman Henk Brink is Vepa a justified winner. “It is an healthy and sustainable company. A family business focused on education, training and the society. At Vepa, there is much that we also like to see at other companies”.
In the same year, Vepa was elected for ‘Most Sustainable Company of Drenthe ‘. Vepa was awarded for the development and realization of Plastic Whale by Vepa: office furniture made from Amsterdam canal plastic.
It didn’t end in terms of awards and nominations. With Plastic Whale by Vepa we were nominated for the “Duurzame Dinsdag Prize “. This prize is awarded to an initiative that focuses on several aspects of sustainability. We finished top three.
After claiming a field of 400 submissions from 25 countries and joining the Green Selection, our chair made from PET bottles is officially Green Product Award winner. The Green Product Award is an annual international competition for innovative, sustainable products & services.
The European Furniture Industries Confederation (EFIC) has declared Plastic Whale by Vepa as ‘best practice’ in the furniture category. The EFIC describes its organizations as ‘the voice of the furniture industry in Europe’.
